Minutes Special Budget Supervisors

Board of Supervisors Special  Budget Meeting October 24, 2018

A budget meeting was conducted by the Board of Supervisors on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 commencing at 9:00 a.m.  Chairman Mr. Reynolds called the meeting to order. Present was Supervisor Mr. Moore and Supervisor Mr. Taylor via telephone, Treasurer Ms. Tammy Russell and Mr. Chris Herr, Township Accountant.

Mr. Herr stated there has been no numbers from PMRS for the Police pension.  There is $300,00 in the budget.  Mr. Herr said there are 4 items to discuss in the budget.  PMRS, the salt shed, the chipper (received $25,00 from insurance), and park improvements.

Mr. Simmons, Road Foreman stated there is no secure location for the salt shed at this time.  He cannot find the history of the Sadsburyville Park.  He suggested to plan for the salt shed in 2020.  He would also suggest to pull the chipper out of the budget and allow $5,000 for rentals of a chipper and bush mower.

Additional insurance has been put on the items stored at Martin’s Corner.

Mr. Taylor suggest the Township take no more roads until the Township is more secure on equipment and salt.

There should be money put in the budget for the Zoning Update and the Saldo Update.

The park improvements other than mowing and supplies, such as cameras, basket ball court, walking trail, the ball field could use some work with drainage, and improve the fencing.  The walking trail would have to be paved.  Mr. Simmons will contact Jamie MacCombie, to see if this could be added to the paving project.  There will be $50,000 taken out of the PMRS for park improvements.

Paige Beaudoin, the part time clerk in the business office will receive a raise from $10.00 to $11.00.  Ms. Beaudoin works 3 hours a week during  the school year, and approximately 9 hours a week in the summer.

After discussion on various budget items, Mr. Reynolds made a motion, seconded by Mr. Moore to adjourn the meeting.

Respectfully Submitted,

Linda Shank
