“There is an ongoing telephone scam attempt in the area to gain personal information for potential identity theft or similar frauds. The caller states that he or she is a representative of some obscure utility company and that YOU have been overcharged for utility service by PECO, and, you are entitled to a refund. The caller will then seek to obtain your name, address and PECO billing information. Any and all of that information can be used for illicit purposes. If you should get such a call, it is recommended that you do not engage in any conversation whatsoever with the caller and that you do not provide any information whatsoever, but simply hang up.”
