Chester Valley Trail meeting

The Chester County Planning Commission is holding a public meeting about the Chester Valley Trail West study that evaluates potential routes for extending the Chester Valley Trail westward from Downingtown to Atglen. Attendees will have the opportunity to contribute ideas and opinions about which route the trail should take. The meeting will be held at Parkesburg Point on March 1, 2018 at 6:30pm. Tricentennial deadlines

This is just a reminder that a couple of Tricentennial-related deadlines are fast approaching:

August 23, 2017
The final day for Tricentennial vendors to nab a guaranteed slot. Slots will still be available after this day, but cannot be guaranteed. You can download a vendor form (PDF) and send it in to the township with a check to reserve your slot.
August 31, 2017
The last opportunity to enter the Tricentennial Photography Competition. Take a picture of something you think represents Sadsbury Township, and follow the instructions to email it in. The competition is free, and you can enter as many times as you like to increase your chances of winning.

Used Book Sale

Read it and pass it on! Contribute your used books to the Strawberry Festival and support your community at the same time!

We are now accepting donations of used books in good condition for the Coatesville Public Library Used Book Sale at the Strawberry Festival. We also accept other media such as DVD’s CD’s and Audio Books that are is in new or good condition (no scratches). We do not accept text books.

Collection boxes are at the following locations (beginning April 1):

  • Citadel – Thorndale Branch
  • First Niagara, Thorndale and Brandywine Square Branches

We will accept any fiction and non-fiction adult and children’s books. Reader’s Digest condensed books, magazines, VHS tapes and encyclopedias are not accepted as they do not sell.

Independence Day Holiday

Reminder Post ItThe Sadsbury Township Business Office Will Be Closed on Friday, July 3, 2015 In observance of the Independence Day Holiday.  

The Administrative Office Will Re-Open For Regular Business Hours On Monday Morning at 8:00 AM. 

PLEASE NOTE:  Eagle Disposal has confirmed that trash and recycling collection will take place on the regular schedule.  Trash/Recycling Pick-Up Will Be Friday, July 3rd



Road Construction Notice (Updated)

Please be advised that Fidelity Contracting will be closing Valley Road / SR372 (between Newport Ave. and Eastern Ave.) for the purpose of replacing two (2) sanitary sewer manholes.

The work is expected to begin on Monday, July 20th and be completed by Friday, July 24th.

The closure will be full-time / 24 hour, and will include a detour which is approved and authorized by PennDOT.

While the manhole construction is underway, we will also commence with pavement restoration from the sanitary sewer pipeline installed this past winter. Pavement repairs will also begin July 13th, and will proceed in this sequence:

1.)  Valley Road (from Strasburg Road to Old Wilmington Road), southbound lane (while detour is in place).

2.)   Valley Road (Old Wilmington Road to Newport Ave.), westbound lane (while detour is in place).

3.)  Valley Road (Buck Run Bridge to Old Stottsville Road) eastbound lane. No detour; through-traffic will be flagged.

4.)   Old Stottsville Road (Strasburg Road to Boro Line Road), fill-width paving; Single-day road closure.

Information signs will be placed in Pomeroy next week for advance notice to motorists and local residents.
