Application for a National Pollution Discharge Elimination System

Sadsbury Township, Chester County has made application to PADEP for a National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) General Permit for Stormwater Discharges from small MS4s. The Notice of Intent (NOI) contains the Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) Strategy for the Christina Watershed, which describes proposed measures to be taken to address impaired surface waters within the designated Urbanized Area for the Township. Inasmuch as there were no impaired streams listed on the PADEP Section 303(d) lists for either sediments or nutrients in the 2006 TMDL Report for the Christina River Basin, the Township is not proposing to implement any physical BMP control measures for this permit cycle. The Township will continue to promote Public Education and Public Participation towards the improvement of water quality. The NOI is available for public review at the Township Building located at 2920 Lincoln Highway, Sadsburyville, PA 19369. Written comments from the public will be accepted for a period of 30 days from the date
of this public notice. The Strategy will also be presented during the regularly scheduled Board of Supervisors meeting on Tuesday December 1, 2015 at 7 p.m. at the Township Building at which time verbal or written comments from any interested member of the public will also be accepted.
